Occupational noise exposure is a major workplace health risk and may lead to Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) if not properly controlled. Our Noise Risk Assessment is conducted in accordance with DOSH / JKKP requirements, including the Occupational Safety and Health (Noise Exposure) Regulations 2019 and the Industrial Code of Practice for Management of Occupational Noise Exposure and Hearing Conservation 2019 (ICOP Noise 2019).
Noise Risk Assessment must be carried out by a Competent Noise Risk Assessor (NRA) registered with JKKP / DOSH, using approved instruments and recognised monitoring methods.

The objectives of conducting Noise Risk Assessment include:
Our assessment approach typically follows these steps:
Item | Area Noise Monitoring | Personal Noise Exposure Monitoring |
What it measures | Noise levels at specific locations or work areas | Actual noise exposure of an employee over a representative work duration (normally up to 8 hours, depending on work pattern) |
Purpose | Identify noisy areas and noise sources | Determine individual employee exposure and compliance with NEL |
Outcome | Noise mapping, identification of Hearing Protection Zones | Daily noise exposure value for employees and need for control measures / HCP |
How often should Noise Risk Assessment (NRA) be conducted?
Noise Risk Assessment should be conducted at least once every five (5) years, or earlier if there are significant changes such as:
