Detailed evaluation of identified level of the risk.

Requirement

First stage assessment under JKKP guidelines

Conducted when IERA indicates the necessity for further assessment

Focus

Early identification of ergonomics risk factors

In-depth analysis of exposure and risk severity

Typical Application

Office work, Production work

Tasks identified by IERA as requiring further detailed evaluation

Outcome

Determine whether AERA is required and recommend basic control measures

Provide detailed findings to support selection of appropriate control measures

Tools Used

Observation, checklist, discomfort survey

Advanced ergonomics tools and measurement methods

Control Recommendation

Basic improvement and control measures

Engineering redesign and advanced control measures

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

No. In accordance with JKKP Ergonomics Risk Assessment Guidelines, IERA must be conducted first. A quotation for AERA will only be issued if the IERA results indicate significant ergonomics risks.

IERA is a screening assessment used to identify and determine the severity of ergonomics risks. AERA is only required for tasks classified as medium or high risk based on IERA findings.

If the IERA results indicate significant risk, AERA should be conducted as soon as practicable. Based on good industry practice, we recommend conducting AERA typically within 6 months.
