[01] OBJECTIVES
The main objective of an aquatic rescue course is to provide individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform aquatic rescues in a safe and effective manner. Specifically, the course aims to:
- Increase awareness of water safety and the hazards present in aquatic environments.
- Learn rescue techniques and emergency response procedures that can be used to save lives in aquatic emergencies.
- Develop proficiency in the use of rescue equipment and tools.
- Provide practical opportunities to apply the skills and knowledge learned in the course through scenariobased training
- Ensure that individuals are competent and qualified to perform aquatic rescues by providing assessments and certifications

Module 1: Advanced Drowning Physiology
– Drowning timeline
– Effects on lungs/brain
– Hypoxia & aspiration
Module 2: Drowning Risk Zones & Profiles
– Pool vs beach vs river vs lake
– High-risk groups (kids, alcohol, etc.)
Module 3: Scene Assessment & Risk Management
– Scene safety
– Risk to rescuer
– Triage and bystander management
Module 4: Rescue Priorities & Planning
– SOLO vs TEAM rescue
– Chain of survival
– When to enter water
Module 6: Use of Equipment & Signals
– Rescue board, tubes, throw bags, fins
– Hand signals in water rescue
Module 7: Post-Rescue First Aid
– Introduction of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
– Introduction of Automated External Defibrillator (theory & Practical)
